Rankings are derived from sentiment ratings provided by employees who anonymously rate their employers on Comparably.com between November 2017 and November 2018. There are no fees or costs associated with participating, nor is nomination required. Small businesses are defined as companies with less than 500 total employees. The final data set was compiled from nearly 10 million ratings across 50,000 U.S. companies on Comparably.com.
